“Taking It All In” has one foot in flash fiction and another in prose poetry. The second-person point of view is rare, but it probably won’t bother readers; they normally substitute “he” or “she” and otherwise pay no attention to the pronoun. Readers will also detect a story implied in the narrator’s recollections, but they will find the image of the “eye” quite poetic and open to interpretation.
