Julian Drury

Julian is in his last year at Tulane University, where he is preparing a degree in English and History. His special interest in American pulp fiction’s relation to social history.

Lignum” may strike readers as a combination of a short story and a prose poem. And the story may be read in different ways. For example: Is the tree malevolent in its wasp-like means of propagation? Or is the narrator responding to the tree’s plea for empathy?
