Melissa R. Mendelson
Melissa lives in the Hudson Valley are of New York state. She has degrees in Mass Communications and Liberal Arts. She writes fan fiction in the genres of the supernatural and science fiction, and she has also published poetry. She is currently writing a novel on the Net.
“Summer Over the Death of My Youth” is a kind of double frame story. It has a prologue and an epilogue. Between the two is the story of an ambitious young reporter who is assigned to cover the scene of a drug overdose in the Arole Woods. She has hallucinations and relives the memory of a very bad scene that occurred at the same place at some time in her youth. Readers will find the narrative intricate but quite suitable as a realistic Halloween story.
