Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Matt Thompson
Matt lives in London, where he has pursued a musical career for more than twenty years. He has now changed to writing prose fiction and poetry. He says his preferred mode is “oddball.”
“The Map of the One Hundred and Eighty-One Seas” will impress readers as a dark comedy in fantasy mode. But it contains a message reminiscent of Our Man in Havana. What happens when fiction is taken as reality, when a putative spy turns out to be an artist, namely a storyteller? A literal-minded philistine of an emperor may dismiss him at his peril, but a double-dealing empress may appreciate hearing a tall tale, as long as it’s a good one.
