Winter Scene

by Hongping Liu

The fairy tale of spring has died
to the ghostly winter.
The zeal in summer has disappeared
in your chilly current.

Once how bright a moon!
It was so pretty and soft.
Now it gapes in frost
so thin and pallid.

My poems yellow in your arms
with my wishes whirling down.
My heart has aged
since we fell apart.
