Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Julianne Carew
Julianne lives in the Los Angeles area but travels the world in search of stories. She has published extensively in literary and young adult fiction.
“Mirrors” will surely touch readers with the sad plight of Lori, the narrator. Her mother committed suicide, and Lori, herself, has been badly disfigured in a traffic accident. Her father has tried to console Lori by saying that her mother’s spirit has taken the form of a bird. Asleep in a childhood tree house, Lori dreams of a bird and her mother. Readers are free to imagine what Lori will have left when she wakens.
