Rick has had a career as a physicist working for the U.S. government. He has degrees in physics, aerospace engineering and computer science. In retirement, Rick is enjoying reading and writing science fiction.

“Quiet Time Has Begun” depicts a British couple transplanted somewhat uncomfortably to New Mexico, where the husband, John Snowson, is working for the SETI project. Sure enough, the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence makes First Contact!

Readers will surely be amused by the comedy that ensues. What if the space aliens find human beings to be a noisy, rowdy lot and don’t want First Contact? Mrs. Snowson has her own ideas about that, but readers will be left with a lingering question: What if the space aliens are right?
