Bewildering Stories welcomes...
R. W. Warwick
R. W. Warwick is originally from the U.K. but now lives in Japan. He has published short fiction elsewhere on line and has received an honorable mention award for one of them. An excerpt from his short-story collection The Dial is expected in a regular issue in the second quarter.
“Troubleshooting Your Deathtec Megaton Death Ray” is quite unusual; it might be called a “dark farce.” The telephone conversation between Xenoton, a tyrant about to be overthrown, and Maggie, a cheerful Customer Service agent, will strike many readers as quite realistic. The situation itself is somewhat less realistic, and that is precisely the point; it’s the source of the dark humour.
