“Something in the Light” is basically speculative flash fiction about an alien invasion. Readers will surely be intrigued by its presentation as a prose poem in verse form.

The double column format is designed to spare readers scrolling; we know how easy it is to lose one’s place on a screen page! The presentation is rare but far from unknown; the Reading Room excerpt in this issue uses a similar format.
