Hayleigh lives in Brooklyn. She says she enjoys comfortable headphones and looking at clouds from airplane windows.

“The Young Cloudmaker” will surely absorb readers into an artist’s interior world. A young artist is destined by family tradition to become a “rockmaker” but decides instead to become a “cloudmaker.”

The story is evidently allegorical. Is a “rockmaker” a sculptor or painter? Does a “cloudmaker” write fiction and a “watermaker,” poetry? Does it really matter? The story depicts an artist’s struggle to learn the techniques of a new craft.
