Mike lives in Massachusetts. He’s a long-time fan of fantasy and science fiction and has begun submitting his own writing after a careful apprenticeship.

“Choosing a Life” soon reveals the double meaning in the title. Sur’in is a “mage” who survives by hiring a gang of hunters to bring him animals. Unlike the hunters, Sur’in does not eat the animals, he sucks out their “life force” much like a vampire. In that way, Sur’in seems normal for a mage in his country. But what if he decides to go rogue? Cannibalism is strictly forbidden. How will he “choose a life”? And, equally interesting, what might be the consequences? A whole series of “mages’ world” stories is implied.
