The Brain Simulates

by Robin Helweg-Larsen

The brain doesn’t look out
Through the hole in the eye
Any more than the brain hears out through the ear
Or tastes out through the mouth.
It’s only input, and all of Creation
Is but the brain’s own re-creation.
What we see, hear and feel’s a simulation.
How do you even know it’s there?
Angels descended and you saw their wings,
But did you see who pulled the strings?
You see, but you are blind.
Eyes don’t see; just the mind.
And when you leave this simulation life behind,
What might you find?
