Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Mohan Pandey
Mohan comes from a small town in the Himalayas. He earned degrees in social sciences and law from Delhi University and began a long career in the Indian foreign service in 1970. He has written extensively on economics, culture and politics. He continues to travel the world even in retirement.
He began a new venture in creative writing after moving to the U.S. in 2010. His preferred genres are short stories and crime fiction. His major influences are the conflicts, disasters and travails of human life that he has witnessed first-hand in the course of his career.
“Beyond Trail’s End” dramatizes a real-life event. It shows that people may sometimes do very puzzling things that raise questions and are difficult to account for. But the narrator doesn’t pry or judge; he remains sympathetic to the hikers he finds on the woodland mountain trail and maintains a calm perspective in view of the cycle of life that plays out anywhere under any circumstances.
