Bewildering Stories

Notre-Dame de Paris

Apparently, some of the stained glass artwork from the 19th century was damaged in the fire of April 15, 2019, but all the medieval rose windows — the rosaces — were saved. This image is the center panel of the western rose window, which dates from the 13th century. The site of the cathedral, in the heart of Paris, has been the home of a religious edifice in various styles for more than 1,600 years.
