Eric Neher

Eric lives with his family in Blanchard, Oklahoma. He works in construction as a product consultant and installation specialist. Eric has graduated from various creative writing programs and has published numerous short stories and flash fiction.

“A New Familiar” is a scary story that will surely make readers think, “Am I ever glad I don’t live in that neighborhood! Or... wait a minute. Maybe I do.” The story will also leave readers wondering who’s really in charge: the cat, Theresa, or Lisa? And wouldn’t Jack and Carol benefit from a sense of humor?

Come to think of it, the tragedy could easily be turned into a rip-snorting comedy: poor, hapless John and put-upon Theresa could run away to Florida while Lisa shows up with the cat and recruits Carol as a ready-made witch for the coven! A good time would be had by all, except, maybe, the cat.
