Bewildering Stories welcomes...
L. S. Engler
L. S. is from Michigan but now lives outside of Chicago. She is an editor of World Unknown Review and has published short fiction widely. She is currently working on a novel about ghosts.
“The Wartburg Incident” dramatizes very vividly the incident where Martin Luther threw an inkwell at the Devil. Was it a fit of ill-temper or did he actually see Old Nick? Let’s just say that in the late Middle Ages, people did tend to take things literally. The story sounds a caution: remain wary; the Devil may withdraw for a while, but he will always come back.
