Bewildering Stories welcomes...
James Penha
James has lived in Indonesia for 25 years. His writing has appeared in world-level publications such as the New York Times, and his prose and poetry have won important recognition. He also edits a journal of current-events poetry.
“Leaves of Peace” is a story of suffering, remorse, penance, forgiveness and compassion. The premise sounds like the basis for a medieval saint’s life, but readers will find themselves charmed by the characters, all of whom are not only likeable but endearing. In the end, Halim’s seeming immortality even with intense pain proves to be a blessing, because it enables him to achieve a long-overdue reconciliation with both a close friend of his youth and with himself.
