The Wind Has No Home

by Marjorie Sadin

The wind has no home.
The rooted tree cannot leave.
A stone stands still.

The tide aches from the sea.
I ache from a loss.
I am rooted like the tree.

The mountain ascends.
The valley gives in.
Fog blurs the view.

My eyes fog.
I reach for someone.
I give in to the wind.
