“Dagger Quest” will engage readers as a really fun story. They will find the Sociomancer appealing for his good humor and non-violent negotiating skills. He contrasts neatly with the cliché of “thud and blunder” heroes and definitely comes as a welcome relief.

The role of magic is hard to handle in any fantasy; the “rules of the game” must be understood early on, lest the story lapse into the “anything goes” error. “Dagger Quest” does good work by making the magic easy to understand in a relatively brief adventure. The drama moves steadily and is guaranteed to keep the readers on the page with the author.
