A Case of Petit Mal” will surprise and engage readers by turning the “superhero” genre upside down. Readers will sympathize with likeable young Pete, who has a paranormal talent that enables him to protect others from harm.

But Pete is a kind of Rodney Dangerfield of superheroes, one who gets no respect or gratitude for his good deeds. Pete will also find he needs mission support, and — in a very nice touch — it comes from a kindred spirit who has resolved the problem of costuming that puzzled Pete for a long time.

Tom Hooker’s bio sketch can be found here.
