Tina V. Cabrera

Tina has earned an MFA degree in Fiction at San Diego State Univerity and is now a member of the English Department faculty at Temple College. She has published extensively in the genres of prose fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry and “hybrid works.”

“Talking to Things” spins a cautionary tale about the future of artificial intelligence. Be careful about artificial playmates for a toddler, or even about artificial pet dogs. What if the playmate becomes a little too human or the mechanical dog seems to devolve to its lupine origins? What if one can’t merely push a button and tell the creature to behave or to calm down?
