Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Eldritch Thrum
real name: Jason Huddleston
Eldritch / Jason is a professor of American literature with a specialty in horror and speculative fiction. He has had success in publishing stories in the genre.
“A Matter of Agency” is a satire. The Riber family — the parents plus two school-age children — want to buy a house. So far, so good. But they don’t want to live in it. Rather, they intend to accomplish a purpose that is couched in language that will be somewhat familiar to adherents of certain religious sects. The real-estate agent, Mr. Moen, does his job but, at the end, he lets us know how he really feels about it. Might he represent some “salesmen” in a related line of work? Yes.
