Bewildering Stories introduces and welcomes...
Angelisa Fontaine-Wood
Angelisa hails from northern Florida but has lived for many years with her husband in a curious abode in the shadow of a castle in France. The walls are lined with books, and the dwelling is only rarely visited by ghosts.
“The Historian’s Debt” may communicate some of the atmosphere associated with Angelisa’s dwelling. A twin brother and sister have similar scholarly inclinations and ambitions, and they both run afoul of an elegantly dressed but foul-smelling impostor who wants to bargain with anyone delving into the more magic-spell aspects of Dante Alighieri’s poetry. The traditional cautionary tale bears repeating, especially since it’s so colorfully told.
