Robert S. Dawson

Robert teaches English at the Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in North Carolina. He has published prose fiction on line and a novel in print.

“The Only Shelter” is a horror story set in the Blue Ridge wilderness not too far west of where Robert lives. A pair of friends have been tramping through the trackless forest until they come upon an old, abandoned house. Of course, the house is haunted. But wait: who is really the “haunt” here? The question will surely stagger one of the characters when he learns what has really happened to him and his friend.
