Matthew Burrell

Matthew has served in the U.S. military in the Balkans and Iraq. Since then, he’s lived in Tokyo for three years and in Thailand for another four. Having experienced immigration difficulties, he knows how the marginalized and disenfranchised feel.

“Border Run” will give readers a feel for tourist-traveling in Vietnam, Thailand and Burma. Readers who have been there or “on the ground” in other parts of Asia or Africa will find themselves at least mentally nodding in understanding. And, at the end, they will surely sympathize with the character Jacob in his decision about boats and visa stamps.
