Miguel Ángel López Muñoz

Nací en Madrid en 1981 y empecé a escribir hace unos seis años, aunque no he empezado a publicar hasta hace muy poquito. Aunque empecé con el género negro, mis géneros favoritos son la ciencia ficción y la fantasía.

Soy licenciado en ciencias matemáticas, por lo que esta ciencia suele tener bastante importancia en muchos de mis relatos. Uno de mis objetivos es divulgarla para que no sea tan temida e incomprendida.

Mi extensión favorita es la novela corta, aunque lo que más tengo son relatos cortos. Mis temáticas suelen ser bastante pesimistas y fatalistas, tanto desde el punto de vista del futuro de la humanidad como del hombre a nivel individual.

Algunos de mis autores favoritos son por ejemplo Isaac Asimov, Raymond Chandler, Dan Simmons, Harlan Ellison, Mike Resnick y Stanislaw Lem entre otros. Mi película favorita es Blade Runner. Mi relato corto favorito es I Have no Mouth and I Must Scream.

He colaborado con revistas como Alfa Eridiani, Axxón, Efímero, Golwen, Miasma, NGC 3660, Nuevomundo y Qliphoth, y estoy pendiente de hacerlo en Necronomicón. Poseo una sección regular de cine en Alfa Eridiani y una de ensayo en NGC 3660.

I was born in Madrid in 1981. I began to write about six years ago but have not published anything until just recently. While my early writing efforts were in the horror genre, I now favor science fiction and fantasy.

I am licensed in mathematical sciences. It usually plays an important role in many of my stories. One of my objectives is to expose people to mathematics in the hope to erase any fears and misunderstandings of that science.

I tend to favor the short novel, although most of my work is in short story form. My themes are usually quite pessimistic and fatalistic, as much from the point of view of humanity’s future as it is on individual levels.
