I did an initial layout sketch using graphite pencil. I then blackened several parts of the layout using charcoal pastel pencil to give the overall drawing some texture. I sprayed a layer of fixative organic formula to protect the graphite and charcoal layout and keep it from getting smudged.
Once the transparent fixative layer has solidified, I then coloured the sketch, using a combination of acrylic ink and paint. I photographed the sketch under a bright yellow incandescent lamp to infuse the image with a warm hue.
Finally, the digitized image was photo-edited in order to further enhance the colours and texture.
