M. M. Vaz is a spouse, parent and researcher who lives in Florida and occasionally dabbles in creative writing.

“Dinner at Castellanos” hammers home a fact that is often overlooked in the humdrum repeition and demands of daily life: one never knows how long one will have on this earth. Dave and Anne have an almost ideal marriage. They are very compatible, but Anne is stuck in a job she hates because the income supports her and Dave too well for her to leave it. She learns that the sacrifice of time comes at too high a price.
