On a meadow stark and cold,
this night a rose shall bloom.
Red blood petals, velvet soft,
will tender its warmth on bitter
frosty nights, and days forlorn.
This night a rose shall bloom,
and a promise it shall bring:
Bright forever be the days
for the heart that holds within,
the blood red rose of winter,
ere fertile spring does loom.
