Neil Shephard

Neil is retired and lives in Utah. His literary preference is for the classic novelists of the early to mid-20th century.

“Substitute” stands the vampire subgenre on its head, in a way. A motel manager is so depressed with his dead-end job that, rather than fear the specter, as well he might, he welcomes it. The sign on the motel might well read, instead of “Vacancy,” “Anything but this!”
