Robert Dollesin lives in Sacramento and regularly reads and occasionally writes fiction after his day job with the Postal Service.

“Café Lost” tells of a couple who may meet or may have met at a sidewalk café. Only, they don’t meet: the story is a touching account of an unfulfilled opportunity told from the man’s point of view in a kind of magic realist mode.

It’s also instructive in its use of sensations beyond the visual and in its depiction of emotion by expressions and gestures rather than words.
