Bore Worm
by Anna Ruiz
There’s a paralysis that comes from knowing too much
it’s a bore worm
that enters one side of your ear
quite unexpectedly,
right at the beginning;
you know,
that question you just HAD to ask,
and now the answer is eating right
through the labyrinth of your mind,
but somehow the pain, though unbearable,
at times, subsides long enough,
that you enter into complicity,
and you don’t mind
that your mind takes its sweet time
and that nothing will ever be quite the same
before you fell on through to the other side...
a vagrant with no home of your own,
a puzzle piece that will never fit
anywhere, searching for an end you’ll
never live to talk about.
