Robert Vella

Robert hails from the island of Malta. He works in business systems and is studying for a degree in video-game development and would like to major in English literature. That’s something new: there were no courses in video-game development when your Managing Editor was a student! In fact, video games were far in the future.

“The Distinguished Mr. Fife” is a story in the “encounter with Death” subgenre. Now that Robert mentions it, the plot does seem to have a kind of computer-game twist to it. The lesson seems to be: if you’re playing one of Robert’s computer games, make sure to follow all the rules, no matter how inconsequential they may seem or, like Richard, you may get eaten!
