Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Kenneth Weene
Kenneth has an advanced degree in psychology and has published in the field. He has also published extensive in poetry and fiction, epecially short stories. He has two novels in print.
“Apple Pies and Elephants” depicts a world sliding into an environmental apocalypse: not only have elephants become extinct, so have apple pies. To the naive narrator, it all seems sad but somehow normal.
When ‘Suze’, a lady who remembers apple pies, is arrrested and “disappeared” the innocent narrator seems dimly to realize that the world, horrible as it has become, is just the way the authorities — whoever they may be — want it.
