A final act in fading twilight.
The thin rim of a day-old moon occulting Mars
which peeks out blushing like a lesser bride from behind
this sliver of light
while Earth steals russet colours from the setting sun,
branches lend their lace to the moon’s masked face
and dark approaches in the gentle dove-grey sky.
