Bewildering Stories welcomes...
David Scholes
David lives in Canberra and has been a resident of Australia for almost fifty years. He works as a consultant economist and accountant for various government offices. He has previously done many different kinds of work. He has written several collections of science fiction and fantasy.
“Trath” has a faintly Australian flavour: Trath and his squad of soldiers are convicts on a prison ship. They can resist almost any kind of weapon, but tough as they are, they are good at heart.
And what we learn about them raises questions: Who or what are the Quellers, and why are they so afraid of Trath and his comrades? There’s a moral, too: don’t be too quick to believe what alien authorities say, especially when their methods raise suspicions about their motives.
