Pilar’s Poem

by Billy Harfosh

One highway to Hemingway
Down his old hot barrel
Still a smoking gun
Fishing vigilante chasing marlin
Secret agents lurking amongst the midnight waves
Listening
Planning
Scheming
Against big Ernest
The Pilar roars about the Cuban coast
The old man in the sea has his fate taken
By the crazy gods
Sucked the life out
Practicing his sanity
Until he rebelled
and took complete control
