Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Richard A. Hebert
Richard lives in Acadia parish in southwestern Louisiana. He works for a large manufacturing company and has degrees in Industrial Electronics and Drafting. He says he’s a “self-taught” writer. He’s also a guitarist and vocalist in various musical styles.
“And the Darkness Drank Them In” is a horror story that dramatizes vividly characters’ reaction to evil spirits in a haunted wood in Wales. In effect, it seems to be a story about a story, and one might mentally transport it to the bayou country of Louisiana.
The moral is that younger generations ought not to dismiss out of hand their elders’ cautionary tales. If the stories say, “Here there be dragons,” you’re free to disbelieve them and venture into the woods, but you may want to take along some dragon repellent, just in case.
