New Ways of Summer

by Ronald Linson

When we finally get out there,
We will find new ways of summer.
On a world where it lasts mere minutes,
The heat will sublimate nitrogen snow.
And far away, where it spans an entire decade,
It's quite pleasant, but only if you can breathe methane.
And there are places where summer lasts forever,
Because the sun never leaves the sky.
We will find new ways of summer,
When we finally get out there.
