Bewildering Stories welcomes...
Leslie Burton-López
Leslie has moved from California to Connecticut recently, but she’s also lived in three different countries and states. She has edited an anthology, co-authored a Spanish-language textbook and started a marketing company that focuses on business and grant proposals. Leslie plans to build a small house “to further her wanderings.” Now wait, Leslie, that wouldn’t be a replica of Dorothy’s house in The Wizard of Oz, now would it?!
“Baggage” will enchant readers with a story of a young woman who goes back in time and provides her childhood self with the mother she never had. Now that’s as practical a time-travel story as can be! To paraphrase an old song: “Pack up your time machine in your old kit bag and... head off your troubles in advance.”
Readers will have incidental questions, of course, such as: Where is Maggie’s father in all this? And: What will happen to “Aunt Peggy” if she changes her life so much that she has no future to go back to? But time travel is a dramatic device; it’s supposed to be interesting and educational, not logical!
