Katherine Allen’s “The Owl in the Supermarket” practically cried out for illustration, and we set about trying to find an appropriate image or two. The Net offers plenty of owl photos and drawings, and a few of them fit the story quite well. However, permission to reproduce art or photography can be very difficult to obtain. Bewildering Stories is all the more grateful to Messrs. Mulvihill and Savannah for their generosity in supporting a young author with their artistic talent. We think her story supports in its own way the spirit of their work in conservation.
