Audie A. Murphy

Audie Murphy has a lot in common with a number of our other contributors: he’s a confirmed Floridian, a Vietnam veteran, and has had a long career at all levels of the newspaper business. One also surmises that he likes warm weather! The setting of “The Grand Pineda,” in this issue, has a certain authentic down-home feel to it. It makes me curious about the novel he’s published and the sequel he’s working on.

Perhaps Audie’s career in journalism accounts for an underlying motif in “The Grand Pineda,” namely the power of stories and story-telling. Well, Audie, you’re certainly right about that. Good show!
