Pie Piper
by Doug Pugh
Puffed and reddened I am
The master
Of culinary perfection
Crowned with a linen dome
Unseen, obscene
Yet I lead you all
In a dance
Of gastronomy
Decadence
Has its own beat
That I delight and tease
As I drip
Confections
Concoctions
Down your gullet
I hide in a room
Filled with fire and steam
As I bake and I slave
For your absolution
I love you
Yet
When you see me
On a street
Unveiled
Reviled
Fat man
Obesity
Has its price
I cannot do anything
Less
Than serve you
With all my heart
And spite
