Bewildering Stories welcomes...

David Lovato

Hailing from California, David now lives in Kanasas City, right near Steven Francis Murphy. David says his preferred genres are supernatural and horror, that he prefers writing to reading, and that he uses commas unconventionally.

Well, David, you’ve come to the right place for commas, as a Departmental selection in this year’s First Quarterly Review will show you. As for preferring writing to reading... well, I can only cite the basic principles of language learning: to learn to speak any language, your own or another, you start by listening. To learn to write, it’s the same thing: you read — and the more, the better.

“A Sheltered Life” is another version of the “bomb-shelter” theme, which has been exploited probably more than twice on The Twilight Zone to similar effect. And the theme of false escape goes far back in literature. Wilhelm Raabe’s novella Else von der Tanne (1867), comes to mind as only one example.

David Lovato’s bio sketch can be found here.

Welcome to Bewildering Stories, David. We hope to hear from you again soon and often!
